Fun Fact: Did you know the Port's wharf can withstand an 8.9 magnitude earthquake? This is thanks to the resilient infrastructure investments we have made over the years.
As we welcome a new season here at the Port, we highlight September as National Preparedness Month! At the Port of Redwood City, we are proud of our role in supporting regional emergency preparedness initiatives. The Port's investment into our infrastructure to withstand 8.9 magnitude earthquakes and sea level rise, underscores our role as a FEMA Federal Staging Area for the Peninsula and south San Francisco Bay region. The safety and security of the Port, its dedicated workers and waterfront are paramount in our day-to-day operations.
Additionally, the Port of Redwood City is greatly appreciative to U.S. Congressman Kevin Mullin, who secured $700,000 in funding to support new stormwater infrastructure and improvements, furthering the Port's environmental stewardship.
Even though summer is coming to an end, our Rock the Dock concert series lives on. Stop by the waterfront any Saturday through Nov. 2 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. to see live performances from some of the best bands in the Bay Area.
Finally, don't forget to mark your calendar as our team has been eagerly preparing for PortFest 2024, occurring on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 475 Seaport Court. We hope you join us for this unforgettable day.
