The Port of Redwood City is a revenue focused entrepreneurial public agency. On a daily basis the Port conducts multi million dollar foreign trade and commerce. The Port is not a taxing agency, we earn our revenue through real estate contracts and cargo operations.

Fiscal Year 2018-19 was a record breaking year for the Port, generating $9.3M in operating revenue from 2.65M metric tons of cargo transferred across our docks. The Port is a feeder port for the construction industry, serving Silicon Valley, importing those raw construction materials via vessels to the region. The total number of vessel calls was 78 cargo ships, a 20% increase from the prior year.

The Port values capital investment to support port operations and economic impact to the community. Over the past several years, the Port invested more than $25M in wharf improvements and other capital infrastructure.
