Safety Precautions at the Port of Redwood City In Response to Corona Virus
As of today, Port of Redwood City maritime operations continue as an essential business need, and our wharfs continue to operate as essential infrastructure. Our FEMA federal staging area remains on standby for emergency activation should the movement of supplies or emergency responders become necessary. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has defined essential services in the linked memo, which includes transportation, ports and maritime on page eight.
The Port’s public facilities, including restrooms along the waterfront, remain closed, and though our administrative office continues business operations, the building is closed to the general public in support of both the San Mateo County and statewide shelter-in-place order. Essential business appointments should be made directly with staff. Tenants and partners are encouraged to conduct business remotely whenever possible.
The Port of Redwood City does not have cruise operations, so there are no cruise passenger impacts at our Port.
