ALTERNATIVE WORK Schedule

The Port of Redwood City promotes a work life balance for its employees, while offering the highest level of service to the public.  In consideration of the high cost of housing in the Bay region, the Port launched an alternative Friday Office Closure, to ease employee commute time, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and provide one additional hour of business administration to the public Monday through Thursday.  The alternative Friday Office Closure is a pilot program, similar to other agencies, and will begin on June 7, 2019.

Port of Redwood City administrative offices offer a compressed work schedule and beginning May 28 are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, open on Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed every other Friday, as shown below. For a printable schedule, go here.

Port operations and public safety services continue 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
