Public Boat
Launching Facility
The Port has the only public
boat launching facility with access to San Francisco Bay south of Coyote Point. Boats on
trailers can be launched in the Redwood City Channel and have access to all of the
waterways in the area. The boat launch is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The use fee is $5.00 per launch.
Spinnaker Sailing
Center
Adjacent to the Marina, Spinnaker Sailing
Center operates a sailing school and offers boat rentals to the public.
Sequoia Yacht
Club
The Sequoia Yacht Club has its headquarters
at the Marina along with its recreational boating club and a clubhouse. In addition, they offer a program for Junior Sailing to
teach young people
sailing and navigation.
Waterfront
Festivals and Public Events
The Port is the
location for public events and festivals featuring visits by historic ships and sailing
vessels. Each spring the Port is the location for the "Opening Day" of the
boating season with a decorated boat parade and other activities. Crew boat races,
Hawaiian Outrigger canoe races, and sailing regattas are regularly held on the Port's
waterfront.
Dry Boat Storage
The Port currently operates a temporary dry boat storage facility next to the public boat launch where boats on trailers can be stored in a secure area and off of private driveways and public streets. The site is managed by Larry Mayne of the Sequoia Yacht Club.
It is located on the paved parking lot area
adjacent to the public boat launch ramp. The area is lighted, fenced and gated and provides approximately 70 spaces for boat storage. Please contact Larry Mayne at (650) 888-2324
or lmayne@aol.com for further details.
