Regattas are competitions between ships in many events related to the maritime environment. Regattas are a time for crews to show their skills and amount of practice time put in to these difficult events. The regatta events include:

Scuttlebutt: A 9 man crew raises a tripod over a 55 gallon drum full of water and using a block and tackle system hoists the drum three feet then lowers it without spilling the water. This event should take less than 3 minutes to complete.

Breeches Buoy: A 9 man crew "rescues" a person from a tower, approximately 60 feet away, symbolizing a rescue from the mast of a sinking ship. They set up a system of blocks and lines in order to raise a chair to the tower and have the rescuee slide down. This event should take less than 15 minutes to complete, but most crews can complete it in under 10 minutes.
